Due to Covid-19, please refer to information contained in the following links:-

From 1st September 2013 There will  be no entitlement for any leave within term time. Schools may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Headteachers will consider each request individually taking into account the circumstances, such as:  the nature of the event for which leave is sought; the frequency of the request; whether the parent gave advance notice; and the pupil’s attainment, attendance and ability to catch up on missed schooling.  Headteachers will also determine the number of school days a child can be away from school if the leave is granted.

Penalty Notices will be issued.
Parents must, from 1 September 2013 pay £60.00 within 21 days or £120.00 within 28 days.  This brings attendance penalty notices into line with other types of penalty notices and allows local authorities to act faster on prosecutions.

  • If your child is absent from school for any reason, a written note is required upon the child’s return to school to explain the absence otherwise the school is obliged to mark the absence as unauthorised.  A telephone call/email on the first day of absence is most helpful to avoid us contacting you. We would ask parents to make arrangements for medical and dental appointments out of school hours. On occasions when children need to leave school early to attend medical appointments, please ensure that the child’s teacher is informed beforehand by letter and children are signed out at the office.
