Welcome to KS1 – Purple Class!

We love learning!

Follow us on Twitter @MorpethAllSaint to see what exciting activities we get up to on a weekly basis.

Below you will find some useful documents such as spellings, common exception words and phonic packs. There are also some suggestions on further ways to support your child with their core skills.

For more information on how to support your child across different areas of the curriculum see our school curriculum pages. Most of all, ask the children about the learning that they have been doing (using twitter to help prompt them if they can’t remember) as these conversations promote a fabulous love of learning and will help them to flourish in all that they do.

If there is any other way we can help or support you, please do come and chat to us as parents/carers are our most valuable partners.

Thank you for all your support!

Miss Willcock

Extra practice:

The most important practice for children is:

  • to read daily with an adult and be read to, talking about what they have read and enjoying lots of wonderful texts together.
  • to practically enjoy maths in action through using coins and notes, counting objects, measuring weight and capacity when cooking and spotting patterns and shapes in everyday life.
  • to enjoy good reasons to write like sending letters and postcards to family members, enjoying writing stories to share with the family, writing shopping lists and entering writing competitions.
  • to ask questions about science, history, geography and every subject, enjoying the thrill of finding out through first hand experiences and research trips to the library.
  • to be creative at every opportunity, through designing and making, drawing and painting, sculping and collaging, dance, music and writing.

This is more than enough to fill the days and activate the thrill of learning for most children. However if you find it helpful to have some additional practice of core skills, here are some more activities you could try:
