The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation (1981) requires Morpeth All Saints CE First School to provide suitable first aid equipment, facilities and personnel so that immediate assistance can be given to any pupils, staff, visitors (including contractors) if they are injured or become ill.  Regulation 3 (2) states that in order to provide first aid a person isn’t suitable unless they have undergone approriate training and are qualified to meet HSE standards.

All relevant members of staff have undertaken emergency first aid at work (EFAW).

Staff working in the Early Years Foundation Stage together with school’s lead first aider have undertaken 12 hour paediatric first aid training in accordance with new legislation stated in the Early Years Framework (April 2017).
